What we collect, and what we never collect.
Short version: the site counts visits without cookies. Sharing a run is opt-in, numbers only, and a person reviews it first.
- Pages are static. We use Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights, which count visits without cookies.
- Your memory choice is saved in your own browser (localStorage), not on our server.
- Local Jev and Claude's local intern talk only to Ollama and whisper.cpp on your own computer. They refuse any other host.
- They upload nothing unless you run them with --share and say yes.
- It is opt-in. The tool shows exactly what it will upload and asks first.
- What it sends: Your chip, memory, graphics card and operating system; The recipe and the models you used; How long each stage took; Token counts: Claude in and out, local in and out; How many items came out; Tool versions; A fingerprint (SHA-256) of the log and up to 15 cleaned log lines; A handle you pick (not your name or email).
- What it never sends: Your prompts or the model's answers; Your files, file names or folder paths; Emails, links, keys or IP addresses (the server rejects any upload that has one); Your IP address in plain form: we keep a scrambled copy for rate limits only.
- The server rejects any field it does not expect, so a prompt or an answer cannot slip in.
- Every run waits in a review queue. A person approves or rejects it. Only approved runs show on the site and in the MCP tools.
- Runs are stored in a database only our server can read or write. The scrambled IP copy is used for rate limits and never published.
- To remove a run you shared, send us its submission id through our YouTube channel. We delete it.
- The signup form sends your email to beehiiv, the service that sends The Gap Report. If you tick the box, beehiiv also marks you for the Local Build community invite. It also gets the page you signed up on.
- We do not keep a copy of your email on our own servers, and we never log it.
- Every email has an unsubscribe link. beehiiv may ask you to confirm your address first.
- https://insidethemachine.ai/mcp serves the same public data as the site. Reading needs no account. We do not log the questions you ask it beyond Vercel's standard request logs.
